Hot Chili Peppers

Hot Chili Peppers are famous appetizers

We find them everywhere on the Reunion Island

They make an excellent starter

I propose you here two variants: tuna and meat, to delight the largest number

Be careful however, having eaten them you risk to breathe fire.

Ingredients :

  • 500 g big green Chilli Peppers

  • 1 bunch of green onions

  • 1 can of tuna

  • 300 g sausage meat 

  • 200 g flour

  • 10 g  baking powder

  • 1 teaspoon of vet-tsin (optional)

  • salt, pepper

  • thyme, soy sauce 

  • 100 ml water (approximate)

  • oil

Method :  

  1. For the dough, mix the flour, vet - tsin (optional), leaven,  salt, and pepper

  2. Slice thinly the green onions 

  3. Add them to the dough

  4. Dilute the dough with some water. She has to be neither too thick or too liquid

  5. To hollow out hot peppers, small advice to put gloves otherwise hands warm very quickly

  6. For stuffing,  season the tuna to your taste  : salt, soy sauce

  7. Furnish half of the hot peppers with this preparation

  8. Season the sausage meat: soy sauce, thyme

  9. Furnish the other half of the hot peppers

  10. Dip every hot pepper into the dough and put frying in a very hot oil
